I have it! Zio Leo's friend & I have come to an agreement on price and I'm going to get my dream car!!!! It is so incredibly cute. Take a look at the picture! For specs: it's 8" longer than a Smartcar (but it's technically a 4-seater), and a Smartcar is a foot taller. This puppy is TINY! I'm very tempted to take over some Rudolph antlers, even though they'll have no clue what that's about -- wouldn't it look adorable with a red nose?

It's Basement Cleaning Time!
Working on cleaning the basement today so that we can build a wall. We want to create an owners' closet in order to provide secure, separate storage space. Would you like more alliteration?
We received more mulch today; they definitely delivered too little last time. The boys have been working on moving some of it, and with any luck we'll have it spread out fairly quickly. I'm inviting as many of the kids' friends as are willing to come ("Hey! Come play over here! Oh-- by the way, now that you've accepted, we have 5 cubic yards of mulch to be moved -- get to it!").
Love,
Alexandra

Our New Blog Is Officially Open!
I can't believe it's already time to start a new blog! We'll be sporadic for a while since we're still in Atlanta, but believe me -- there's a ton going on to do with our trip!
Today I scheduled all the kids' well-child checkup and requested all the medical records. We'll be doing that in the next few weeks. We're also working hard on getting the house ready for our tenants: spreading mulch in the garden (last weekend we had to pull the ivy from the kids' play area and raise the bricks along the path in the front), building a wall in the basement to create an owners' closet, finishing trim, and so on. And there are only 8 weekends left!
Tonight we have 15 people sleeping in our house -- complete mayhem, you'd think, since there are 11 children in the mix. However, they're remarkably pleasant. Sam was playing guitar softly and soothingly as kids worked on clearing the table. I nearly fell asleep while getting William in bed. Our French visitors (from L'Arche International) are already in bed and (I hope) in lalaland. In a little while, the older ones can start playing games.
Tomorrow we'll be making some large lasagne for dinner, and then everyone will go to the pool. Eleanor's taking the SAT subject tests, and I don't even know what else is going on. I guess I'll get to that in the morning!
When it comes to our beloved Todi, I am working on finding my car to purchase so that it's available upon our arrival. Leonardo's uncle (you guessed it -- his Zio Leo) has a friend with my fantasy car: a Fiat 500 from 1967! It's absolutely precious; we'll see if the purchase works out. If it doesn't, I'm sure something will.
I haven't heard from Marcello whether or not the internet is complete. I'll be writing to him shortly. Our apartment is a 160 square meter apartment directly across from Massimo's pizzeria!! Fabulous! The location couldn't be better. Benedetta has checked it out and says it's fine, with lots of windows.
