Tricia was here for a long-awaited visit, and we took the opportunity to visit the hot springs of Saturnia. These are located a little more than two hours away from Todi, so it's a bit of a haul, but well worth it.
Arriving in the free parking lot, we walked 100 meters and then found a (closed) mill house with a waterfall flowing to the side into calcium-lined pools. While it was possible to hang out above the falls (there were pools beside the strong current leading to the falls), we decided that they were a little cool for our taste. The warmer water was so strong at that point that we didn't want to risk being a casualty.
Back to the lower area. There are basins with little, white, calcium-covered pebbles on the bottom. While not deep enough to sit up to your neck, they were a comfortable depth for reclining. We were far enough from the falls to be able to enjoy conversation while we admired the view.
Definitely worth a return trip, despite the smell of sulfur that lingers!
Love,
Alexandra
