Flying Visit to Scotland

Last weekend, Michael and I went on a much-anticipated trip to see Florence in Aberdeen. Michael's parents were going on a Scotland tour, so they scheduled time for a side-trip to Aberdeen and we tagged along. It was great to have a mini-reunion focused on one of the granddaughters!

We tried a new hotel this time, which had the definite drawback of being in a trendy restaurant/bar area. On the other hand, the walk back from our Indian restaurant was only about 30 seconds! After a day of walking, that suited us just fine.

There's not a whole lot to report, since most of our time was spent in conversation (didn't see any new sights, other than Florence's apartment, which is much bigger than I expected!) and catching up. However, we did happen on the nice market (in the same street as the bars and restaurants, so conveniently placed...and, yes, wool was bought for anyone who's wondering) and we got a little shopping in.
Fall has arrived; this is one of Florence's classroom buildings

Florence being cute

Back to home and daily life for all of, oh, three days: on Thursday, I'm leaving for an excursion to Puglia! After that, I have to be home for a while; my bed misses me!

I was very amused with this coffee machine in the airport...
look how many choices you have!
And freshly ground beans!

Once you have selected your brew, tel them how much sugar you want...

Love,

Alexandra
