Hedgie, or "A Parking Diversion"

Tonight, I arrived at my "usual" (Plan B) spot next to San Fortunato, only to find big signs declaring the parking lot unavailable between 6 a.m. tomorrow morning and sometime Friday. My Plan A spot (in the alley on the way to Pianegiani) has been unavailable all this week between 16:30 and 24:00 due to the tango festival.

So -- the upshot was that I'd either have to move my car at midnight tonight or 6 in the morning. Night owl that I am, midnight sounded peachy in comparison to early morning.

Eleanor and I went up to the parking lot together -- and boy, were we rewarded! As I turned the car around, I saw a small hedgehog or large rat huddled up against San Fortunato. A closer look revealed it to be the cutest little hedgehog (guinea pig-sized). He was quite sad, though -- he needed a hedge under which to hog.

Love,

Alexandra
