Swift Visitor

This is the time of the year for the swifts in the courtyard to fledge, and this evening one was so surprised by its success that it came in through our open window and crashed in a corner of the kitchen.

Out of breath, stunned, and afraid, it allowed Alexandra to help it back outside and was in no hurry to try again.








She left it on the windowsill, and 15 minutes later it had departed.
