This morning, there was a huge traffic diversion: the main road into the Piazza del Popolo was closed off, and all cars were required to go through the little alley by Pianegiani.
As always, our inquiring minds wanted to know exactly why. So after our morning coffee, Michael and I meandered up the road (which, incidentally, makes a LOVELY pedestrian route...sigh) to the Piazza Garibaldi. At first sight, we thought someone was moving...you know, same old boring sight of a crane placed against a third-story window.
Strangely, though, the contents of the truck looked like computer servers without ventilation or something similar. Of course, we asked, and it turns out they're new telephone boxes? switches? for the town.
Duh!
Love,
Alexandra
