Today is Saturday, thus it is market day.We walked through the street where it is held, and were disappointed in the number of usual stands that had not been set up. However, at the last six stalls, they were selling fresh fruit (probably picked this morning), fresh herbs (still on the plants), and fresh meat (still live). There were two stalls of fresh poultry. There were chickens, turkeys (we think), ducklings (two kinds!) and quail! It was quite a sight, I fell in love with a runt of a duckling, but we DO live in an apartment. It was fuzzy, yellow, and small. It was the size of a fist. Adorable.

Your mother knows what happens to adorable little ducklings!
ReplyDeleteI wonder if summer holidays would explain the paucity of vendors this month.
ReplyDeleteI know what happens to cute little duckings too, but my sad story has nothing to do with food.

Poor Jeremy was muttering all the way home about owning a duck...I really do feel his pain. And they WERE adorable! Simply precious!
ReplyDeleteJust remember Jemima who turned out to be a very aggressive drake! Not to mention a very messy creature!
