Our First Running Routes

The weather has cooled enough that Ashley and I can go out for a run in the mornings.  It is best if we start before 8:00 so there is still some shade on the route.

Mostly we have been circumnavigating town.  Because it is a hilltop town, the further out you run the higher the cardiovascular penalty exacted as you return to the top of the hill at the end of your run.  Therefore our main variation thus far has been where we start the circle and whether we run clockwise or counterclockwise.

This was our route from this morning: 5.4 km ending with a half-kilometer hill at 10% grade:

I hope that as we get stronger and the weather gets cooler we will be able to do some loops a little further out in the country.  I've already mapped out a 5K and a 10K that go down to the Tiber.
